In 2006, ITV launched CITV as it’s own channel, in 2007, ITV reduced it’s children’s output on ITV1 & ITV2.
Friday 1st September 2023 was CITV’s last day on the air as ITV now signpost viewers to their streaming service ITVX.
Residential viewers can access ITVX for free on Freeview Play, Freesat & Sky Q as well as on Smart TV, console and streaming stick.
Businesses with public TV in children’s areas have alternatives to the linear CITV channel following its closure.
On Freeview, CBBC, CBeebies and in some areas, POP continue to broadcast, on Freesat and Sky, CBBC HD, CBeebies HD, POP, Tiny Pop & POP MAX continue to broadcast and on Sky, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr & Sky Kids continue broadcasting under the main business subscription.
